In the early 1970s, Mr. Roland Désourdy, one of the founders of the City of Bromont, proposed the Park to host the equestrian events of the 21st Olympic edition. The site received accreditation in 1974 and from there the facilities were built which, in 1976, would welcome athletes and visitors.
After the Montreal Olympics, the Bromont Olympic Equestrian Park continued its international influence by presenting high-level events including the International Bromont, a show jumping competition held under the direction of Roger Deslauriers.
As a major competition venue, the Park is constantly improving itself. A privileged facility for the next generation of Quebec equestrian sports, the Park offers the opportunity to show alongside top-level athletes in the sport at a top-quality venue.
The Olympic site offers a permanent stable of 80 stalls, numerous training and competition arenas, and a large steeple chase track used in particular for an international level eventing competition.
Its geographical position also gives it several advantages: the growth of the city of Bromont, the beauty of the Eastern Townships mountains, and the proximity of the American border.
